Authentically Catholic

The SSPX recognises that the Novus Ordo Mass is a danger to the faith. To protect the faithful the SSPX needed to resist the New Mass and defend the Traditional Latin Mass and ensure the continuation of Catholic Traditions which meant the formation of new traditional priests. This also meant the need for the consecration of new traditional bishops. For this reason and its rejection of Modernism, the SSPX had become disobedient to the Modernists in Rome.

The SSPX needed to do this even at the cost of being disobedient to the Church hierarchy because they maintain the supreme law of the Church:

“Salus animarum lex maxima Ecclesiae”

(The salvation of souls is the supreme law of the Church).

The Modernists believe everyone can be saved, regardless of God's Commandments, Church doctrines, even for those outside the Church. Who is really being disobedient, the ones who ignore God's Commandments, Church doctrines, and traditions, or the ones trying to maintain the authentic Catholic faith?

There are many lay people and even religious Catholics giving their opinion of the SSPX and it is just that - an opinion. They do not have Church authority. The Church has never declared the SSPX to be in schism. The SSPX is authentically Catholic (nothing Protestant about it.) and that is the problem for the Modernists, but for them having a Protestant-style Novus Ordo Mass is not a problem for them. Modernists don't believe the Church is supernatural but a church amongst other churches. This is the crisis Catholics should recognize and respond to in worship that is authentically Catholic.
